Apparitions still won’t leave me alone

I decided to listen to music while working today, and a particular song came on – a song I sang along to while pregnant (only if I was alone). Out of nowhere, I felt a fluttering kick sensation in my stomach. Just for a second, and then it was gone.

  1. Sara…isn’t it interesting how certain things like a song can trigger us back to a time and place where both happiness exist along side sadness? Wishing you better memories in the future!

  2. Sadly enough, that happens to me all the time. I suppose it’s like losing an arm or a leg — you can still feel the phantom limb that tenaciously seems to remain.

  3. Thanks, Leroy. Funny thing is, as much as it made me sad, I sort of appreciated that I could still remember the feeling.

Am I just crazy to think maybe it was a sign of hope?

  4. I had them from the time Nicolas was born until his due date, then they stopped. ((((((hugs))))))

  5. Oh God, the phantom kicks. What a cruel reality those are. Even now, two years on, I feel twitches that are eerily reminiscent of a foot or an elbow every once in a while.

I’m sorry. It’s like pouring salt on a wound when you get those jarring reminders of your loss when you least expect them.

    God, I’m sorry.

  6. I’m so sorry.

I had phantom kicking sensations from the day Ganon was born until his due date. Even though I did not go through the tragedy you experienced, they sent me into a fit of tears every time.
